THUNDERCLAP NEWMAN - HOLLYWOOD DREAM

Lovely condition and increasingly rare and sought after psych/rock gem

Year/Label : 1970 TRACK UK Label number : 2406 003 Matrix numbers :  2406 003 A ∇ 1, 2406 003 B ∇ 1 Stampers : 1 1  2  /  1 1  1
Very good plus ( VG+) condition vinyl (many would grade as "excellent" I am sure) retaining a nice jet black lacquered sheen and in normal daylight appears to be completely unmarked. It is only with close inspection under a bright light that a few extremely wispy hairlines and equally faint scuff marks can be detected - all non-feelable and appearing to be purely superficial though there is a very small passage of very light background crackle at the beginning and end of A2, x6 very light background clicks and some very minor background rotational crackle towards the beginning of A5, and x5 equally very light and background clicks towards the beginning of B4 - you will need to listen carefully to detect each of these. The labels are excellent (EX) with the only blemishes being a few small and very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label - otherwise perfect!  A very good plus (VG+) condition non-laminated MacNeill Press outer gatefold sleeve with firm edges though mild and noticeable scuffing does exist on each, with a little mild scuffing on the spine also including a centimetre of continuous scuffing at each end of the spine though the spine text remains legible and largely intact. The corners remain nicely defined right angles with a little mild rubbing on each, the opening edges are firm with barely any fraying, and the only other blemishes are a little mild ring wear on the reverse side and a few small, non-obvious and purely surface only handling/storage marks on each of the front and reverse sides. The colours, art work, photos, and text remain in impressively clear condition with excellent clarity and definition still.  Overall excellent (EX) MONO sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, or distortion and the only clicks and crackle are as already mentioned above : "a very small passage of very light background crackle at the beginning and end of A2, x6 very light background clicks and some very minor background rotational crackle towards the beginning of A5, and x5 equally very light and background clicks towards the beginning of B4 - you will need to listen carefully to detect each of these". These are very, very minor blemishes and do not detract at all from the great listen of what is undoubtedly a brilliant album - there is not a single weak track or "filler" on this LP with "Accidents" and "Something In The Air" being absolute standouts. Such a vastly underrated and overlooked psych masterpiece with great tone and clarity throughout.  Comes with original and very good plus condition poly-lined "Headhunters" inner sleeve with no splits or edge fraying, no discolouration or tears, and just a little creasing in one corner. There is a name and date written in biro on the front side (see photo).  Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.   Under the radar, underrated, overlooked - one of the early 70's long lost prog/psych gems with a number of  outstanding tracks and absolutely no filler - brilliant!
POSTAGE COSTS :

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits.
