BOLD, FEARLESS, VISIONARY AND UNCOMPROMISSING, EVEN CONFRONTATIONAL: The essence of this quintessential Tim Buckley album can be summed up in only five words.

For those unlucky ones unfamiliar with Tim's music: this is one of the most stunning, amazing pieces of music ever recorded, containing some of the most unapologetically uncompromising and unyielding, radical, dark, mystical and deeply spiritual poetic vision ever offered by ANY popular artist, in any field. It has to be heard to be believed. A truly starsailing experience it is, if ever we had one.  With this one, you won’t need any ACID.

The album was Tim Buckley's worst seller and is believed to have sold less than 10,000 copies in the United States. The abysmal commercial failure of this project caused Buckley to go into a 2-year self-imposed hiatus as a recording artist and even try his luck as a cab driver.  Original copies of this magnificent psych/acid album are INORDINATELY hard to find and the remaining copies are getting harder and harder to find with each passing day. Don't wait!!!

The album includes original version of "Song to a Siren", Buckley's paean to a sexual/spiritual union of a male and female.

For its extraordinary contribution to the modern music, superb production, craftsmanship, fine musicianship, revolutionary significance and influence it exerted on numerous generations of musicians, writers and general public, this album was voted one of top-100 albums of all time in one of the largest poll of critics, music reviewers, professionals and producers ever organized: the poll, which was conducted in 1987 by Paul Gambaccini, legendary BBC Radio A&R man, surveyed more than 50 top music professionals.

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)         WE GRADE THE VINYL  AS  NEAR MINT. Some VERY LIGHT AND SUPERFICIAL abrasions – mostly sleeve scuffs -  are (barely) visible, but are probably inaudible,  and do not affect visual integrity or beauty of the vinyl. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new (minor, superficial scuff noted on 'Song to a Siren', not expected to be audible)

(b)         The record comes in the original stock inner sleeve.

(c)         The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)         Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·                          THE COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-       Cover has a small cutout corner visible

-       Visible shelf wear noted on the bottom seam and spine.

-       Minor shelf wear noted on the top seam (nothing significant)

-       Cover has two corners slightly worn / dinged  / bent.

-       Cover has some light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 2 (front side) and 4 (back side)

-       Back cover has circular tarnish (grayish, dust-covered sections, which closely follow the contour of the record),  probably caused by friction or by rubbing against other covers during the storage. The tarnish is similar in appearance to a common ring wear, but, UNLIKE ring wear, these grayish areas may be possible to clean up with a minor effort and with a right cleansing solution.

-       Cover shows some light yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging.   (nothing significant)

-       Cover has a visible wrinkle (air bubble in the paper slick) on the front panel
