Description

TOMMY MCCOOK - BELOW ZERO / NEVER GET WEARY 1963 N.MINT Island WI 118 feat. Lee Perry Vocal on B-side, TOP SKA Please note: In the pictures above the smudge mark appearing at the bottom left of the record is from my scanner, not a mark on the vinyl, and is clearly present in almost all of my listings on-line now. Many apologies, fresh scans available on request.

Up for sale here:

Very early single from Tommy McCook, his second UK release. Stunning condition, vinyl looks and plays like new, has only ever been played two or three times. Part of a collection of unplayed record shop stock, bought previously by one of my customers over 40 years ago. Bought as a job lot with various 60's pop tunes, the ska sides weren't to his liking so he carefully filed them away at the back of his collection and forgot about them until a couple of months ago when he was having a clear out. Imagine my delight when he turned up at my shop with various mint ska classics, including three copies of this tune!!! Needless to say most have flown off my shelves, however as not everyone can visit us in person in Lincoln I've included a copy in this latest round of ebay auctions. This disc has been stored for 40+ years in perfect conditions and would be the final upgrade needed for any serious ska collector.

Please check my other listings for more hard to find ska/reggae 45's from Laurel Aitken, Afro-Enchanters, Tommy McCook, Prince Buster, Baba Brooks, Rico Rodregez and more. Plus more rare singles, including by the following; Neil Christian & the Crusaders (feat. Jimmy Page), Guy Darrell, the Koobas, Mike Sheridan (feat. Roy Wood), the Alan Bown Set, Fresh Air (super rare heavy psyche), Can, Pink Fairies, the Electric Prunes.
