Description

SUPERB and very hard to find 1967 album by Tommy Roe - his REAL sunshine pop psych album!  "Phantasy", on the ABC label.  Features Lee Mallory from Sagittarius and Millenium, and Mike Deasy who did session guitar work with the Monkees.  And this fits squarely in the molds of those bands, as this album is chock full of great summery pop psych with catchy melodies and groovy psychedelic touches.  "Mystic Magic" is pure Sagittarius with its breathy, echoed vocals and bouncy sunshine pop vibe..."Little Miss Sunshine" is great supercatchy pop right outta the Monkees "I'm a Believer" style, with that rollicking calliope organ sound.  And "These Are The Children" has a very groovy West Coast sunshine pop vibe with its echoed-out vocals and rural style.  And that particular song, as well as "Goodbye Yesterday" which is also here, were both written by Sandy Salisbury, the now-legendary singer and songwriter of the Millenium and Sagittarius.  I'm surprised this album wasn't produced by either Gary Usher or Curt Boettcher, because it has all the ingredients (and band members) of their trademark breezy sunshine popsike sound.  A lost classic, I say.  Original pressing from 1967, ABC label, cover in EXCELLENT shape and STILL IN SHRINK WRAP - vinyl looks new and plays EXCELLENT as well.  Winning bidder pays $3.00 media shipping in the US, $6 to Canada, and $11 everywhere else.  Paypal, Bidpay, cash, checks and money orders accepted.
