Original 1971 U.K. first issue stereo pressing released on the RCA Neon label NE4.
Description :
Very rare and hard to find jazz prog fusion classic that has become increasingly collectable over the last few years.
Tonton Macoute was a progressive jazz/rock band formed in the UK in 1971 from the remaining 4 musicians of Windmill after the death of lead singer/guitarist Dick Scott in a road accident whilst on tour. Both bands were managed by Ken Howard and Alan Blaikely (Matthews Southern Comfort / The Herd / Dave Dee Dozy Beaky Mick and Titch).
The personnel consisted of Paul French-vocals and keyboards, Dave Knowles-vocals, sax and flute, Chris Gavin (Gavin Wilkinson)-guitar and bass, and Nigel Reveler-drums and percussion.
Condition ~ Vinyl :
Side one of the super clean vinyl is in EXCELLENTcondition with just the very faintest signs of use and the odd very faint non-audible surface hairline.
Side two is in incredible NEAR MINT condition.
Audio Quality :
The sound quality is absolutely superb with virtually no background noise at all, hardly even a click or a pop. It's a sheer delight to listen to. Stunningly crisp and clear!!!
Condition ~ Sleeve :
The classic striking gatefold sleeve is in overall great shape with just very light edge and ring wear. EXCELLENT condition.
Condition ~ Inner Sleeve :
Comes complete with the original black RCA Neon poly-lined inner sleeve which is in excellent condition.
Condition ~ Labels :
Both labels are nice and clean. No writing.
