Description
Probably the most sought after publicly available Tool collectible produced. You know how rare this is by now...you also know that the audio fidelity of vinyl on a decent turntable is unmatched by standard CDs. If you're a REAL TOOL fan and you don't own this, here's the best opportunity you'll find short of a sealed copy.
THIS ALBUM WAS NEVER PLAYED.
EVER.
I didn't have a turntable for years, and by the time I acquired one this damn thing was rare enough that I knew to keep it safe. I will ship the album VERY well protected and padded.
CONDITION:
(I tried to over-scrutinize with the harshest of possible opinions. You will be pleased with the quality and condition as this truly is a remarkable piece)
- OUTER SLEEVE:
- NM- outside, VG+ inside
- The right hand side of the record (where the vinyl and sleeves are retrieved) shows very minor handling wear.
- The left side corners are cut differently from traditional gatefold vinyl in that there is a slight indentation. This is standard for this particular album. However, because of this the corners appear slightly snubbed. Close inspection shows that there is very, very minor damage on the bottom one and none on the other.
- The right side corners show some minor snubbing/creasing (presumably from being housed in a box prior to hitting the shelf at the store).
- Inside the gatefold there is creasing on the left panel running approx 20% of the inside seam, following the outline of the record itself. The crease is factory caused and is extremely common among mass produced/assembled gatefold sets.
- The outline of the records themselves can be seen under light. This is extremely difficult to avoid, even direct from factory copies will have this to some degree.
- The top has a minor 1/4" crease where a very small amount of the white cardstock shows through slightly.
- The spine has two extremely minor marks that extend inward towards the center.
- INNER SLEEVES:
- I housed one of the sleeves in a frame for a year or so, but they are still in NM condition. You can see the outline of the records themselves, which is expected and assumed with a record this old. The frame was in a room that had no windows and was taken down within 6 months. Comparison of ink quality shows NO degradation, I'm merely being overly informative.
- VINYL:
- Unplayed, as per above description. There are no visible scratches or disturbances. Label integrity is intact.
It hurts to part with this important piece of personal nostalgia, but as they say....my loss is your gain.
Due to the fact that this record has significant value, insurace will be required based on the final selling price.
