PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. TOP COPY - super scarce ! !
MAJOR 1968 rarity - has gotten to be near impossible to find, 50+ years of age AND especially rare with the PSYCHEDELIC (Filmore styled) fold-out poster... but also in one of those super-delicate SILVER-FOIL gatefold covers that tend to implode standing still...here is a considerable TOP copy with no reason to wish to up-grade, even IF one could locate a better copy (good luck to that notion.)
After witnessing the success of the Monterey Pop Festival the year before, the enterprising entrepreneurs who created this show had hopes of not only staging a show nearly as popular as the legendary concert, but of also creating some new stars out of many of the local QUALITY 'unknowns' outfits that hadn't yet managed to break through. The original Monterrey Festival didn't included any unsigned-to-major-label artists outside of the Bay City -- but ALL of the music on this album was recorded in the studio, AFTER the concert, in order to obtain the best stereo sound possible, and all of the tracks found on this album also are band originals -- none of them were ever released elsewhere. Musically, it's a collection of "San Francisco Sound" rarities intended to represent the hippie sensation and by and large it works.
Original copies of this album - like this - are now extremely rare, and ultimately it's worth seeking out for the great fuzz/rock/psych inclusions displayed.
This original cover contains a die-cut circular hole in the "silver foil" guitar on the front cover, exposing the psychedelic flowers found inside the gatefold.

The vinyl: rated: M- very clean, a scarce find altogether when even thinking of this rarity in its original first state release. There are NO split seams - NO bends, NO writing, and NO delete marks ... here, a BEAUTY! Again 50 years ago and virtually extinct!
