Description
TRACERS-45-“She Said Yeah”b/w“Watch Me”-Sully Records #928-Killerkool 1966 Amarillo TEXAS Garage-Punk. Band also was known as the TRY-Cerz, and rumored to be an Oklahoma band back in the 80’s—but TEXAS. A side is a POWERHOUSE version of the L. Williams/Stones’ track with a monster fuzz lead guitar break; B side has been on many comps, PSYCHEDELIC UNKNOWNS ETC. Great Moody and mean garage-punk.
Condition: Record is close to MINT-Minus; Note that EVERY copy of this record has a visual ‘line’ in the pressing on the WATCH ME B side—this is due to the fact that the original metal master that the record was pressed from had a ‘bend’ in the plate—so the bend is evident in the pressing, but does NOT affect play and is normal on SHE SAID YEAH side. Only can see in certain light angles—I had 2 other copies and had the SOLLY BLUE label version and it STILL had this same pressing visual-- In the 70’s I spoke to a guy that worked for record companies in the 60’s and showed him this record and he confirmed that the metal pressing plate had a slight bend in it--… another extended description I took the liberty of using, from another dealers’ listing from a couple of years ago when describing the same thing----- here goes: … one slight pressing flaw. On the Watch Me side only there is what at first might appear to be an internal crack, something along the lines of a "stress fracture." However, it definitely is not! It appears from the edge of the record to a point almost reaching the dead wax. It looks very much like a vein in the pressing (The record is made of styrene). The "vein" appears on each side of the label as if it were one continuous line. However, there is a break where the "vein" no longer appears. The "vein" does not extend at all into the dead wax on either side or the label area. It just appears in the grooves with the dead wax and label separating it. So, it apparently would not be present under the label either. There is no mark whatsoever on the surface of the record. There is no weakness apparent at any point on the record. I have confirmed that this is in fact a pressing flaw. I have seen and confirmed another promo copy of the record and it has the same type of flaw at two opposite points on one side of the record.
Label clean both sides
