Description

Hello! You are looking at an Original Press vinyl copy of the TRACY CHAPMAN self-titled LP "Tracy Chapman". This is the Specialty Press version, as indicated by the "SP" mark on each label.

Elektra Records, 60774-1, 1988.

This is a geat, highly collectible album from the legendary singer/songwriter/guitarist out of Cleveland. This is an Original Press, not a reproduction - this album has not been reissued since its release in 1988!

Overall, the record is graded as VG. Both sides visually grade as VG+, with a lot of gloss and no scratches whatsoever. Only some minor paper wisps that cause a small amount of background noise in some of the quiter passages. The recording is great and plays solid VG on side 1 and very strong VG on side 2 with no major issues to note. The center hole is unworn, and the labels are CLEAN with no spindle marks!

The jacket has some ring wear and a few minor scuffs, along with corner rubs and some creasing. The spine is legible when shelved. All in all, a decent VG jacket with no seam splits, rips, or major damage! The original inner sleeve is also included, in VG condition due to creases and one 3/4" side split. The bottom is not split at all. I will package the record in another sleeve though, so the OIS doesn't get damaged during transit. Please review the photos and feel free to ask any questions!

Payment required within 48 hours after auction end. Item will be shipped with tracking via USPS Media Mail. Item will be VERY securely packed, with the record outside of the jacket, wrapped in a plain plastic sleeve and shipped within a brand-new LP mailer with inserts and corner protection. Any international purchases must use the Global Shipping Program. I've shipped tapes, vinyl, and shellac across the world with no issues, so do not worry. Thanks for looking!

I use the Goldmine Grading Guide, not a made-up system where the grades are actually lower than the standard. I grade conservatively and have created more detailed explanations for enthusiasts in addition to the standard as mentioned below:

M / only sealed items will have this grading.
NM / an immaculate copy that has a known provenance or is an unplayed, opened copy.
EX / no easily identifiable marks on vinyl. High luster. A "top copy".
VG+ / very minor marks, absolutely no feelers. Well taken care of. A "keeper copy".
VG / visible wear or marks that may be audible. A feeler or two, tops. May have tics, but no pops. A "player copy".
VG- / has wear and multiple marks, including feelers. May have a few pops and some background noise, but no skips. A listing at this grade must be a scarce pressing.
G+ / must play through with no skip feelers or warps, or locked grooves. Will have pops and more prevalent background noise. A listing at this grade must be a rare pressing.
