Traffic---"Mr. Fantasy"---Ultra Rare Mono UK Copy On 1st Pink Island From 1967---Wonderful Music
This is an UK press copy in mono from 1967 and is on the pink circle Island label, cat. no. ILP-961 with matrices A & B2.
Vinyl: . This record has been well played over the years but still shows plenty of life yet. The vinyl has a very nice shine with quite a lot of light hairlines which show in the strong light. Audio is as follows: Slight surface noise shows in quiet parts-Side 1 start- one light click as track 1 begins-track 1 sounds fine and between 1 & 2 there is clicky surface noise-The rest of side 1 plays EX with some light surface noise especially in gaps. Side 2: Tracks 1 & 2 have light clicks occasionally but the rest play really well. Surface noise again between tracks. No skips or jumps.
I think I have been as honest as I can be with the audio description, as I know how rare this is and I wouldn't want to mislead anyone into thinking it is a mint copy. It sounds great though and it has been a privilege to have owned this for a while and been able to hear it again after so many years.
Labels: Labels are pretty good if a bit grubby with the roughness caused by a lot of spindles over the years.
Sleeve: This gatefold flipback sleeve is looking a little limp with age (don't we all!) but is nice and colourful with a small spine tear and some other wear. Shows a little ringwear under a bright light and there are many hairine creases in the laminate--still has a nice shine though and most importantly it still works.
