Description
“Traffic” first press LP by Traffic!! 1968. Collection of Traffic/Steve Winwood/Dave Mason LPs for sale in fantastic condition; please check my other auctions and do have a look at my feedback! Traffic “Traffic” LP, 1968, Island Records, pink label with black & red “circle” logo, first pressing on heavy vinyl. This LP is a FIRST pressing ILPS 9081 STEREO in visually EX++ condition, getting on for “as new” with all of the 1968 gloss and shine to the record. Hard to find in this condition! This one-owner LP has always been in a protective cover. The un-laminated gatefold sleeve, with paper stapled-in insert is superb, with no stains, perfect flatness, no writing, finger marks or grubbiness at all, really brilliant! The fixed insert, or booklet, is PERFECT!! Not even a wrinkle or finger print!! Check out the photographs, which hardly do it justice! The only detractions from near mint for the outer sleeve are a couple of trivial light handling creases (hard to see) to the front (the cover is still perfectly flat) and a tiny amount of rubbing at the top and bottom of the spine – but not through the card, and NO bashing or damage, just extremely light handling wear (remember it has always been in a protective cover). Otherwise the cover is close to mint! No tearing, wear or anything! The record appears possibly played a couple of times; there are no scratches scuffs, or hair line marks at all! Just shine and gloss!! It looks almost new. The labels show no “spindle” marks or traces, and a perfect, the centre hole still has some spare plastic “swarf” hanging around!! Only a faint background dust sound (un-cleaned for 34 years!) is present, and perfect audio. Between tracks one and two there is one light click, and the same at the end of track two, where a small dimple is present in the vinyl from manufacture. These sounds are not serious, and don’t spoil the music in any way, but I point them out. They may be due to 40 year-old dust in the grooves, there is certainly no scratch or damage visible even through a lens! A brilliant sounding LP . A true MINIMUM of EX+ overall, and I’d not argue if I bought this as a NEAR MINT copy! Buy it and hear the genius of Winwood & Co. It must be worth the opening bid of £55.00 for this near-perfect copy of the FIRST pressing of “Traffic”!! 1968!! Cheaper than a time machine!! I have been buying and selling records for almost 40 years, and I know what to look for most of the time! I have also worked as a record producer and I know the difference between mixing, mastering and pressing, a series of subjects of which most sellers know so little, so they make it up! I DO know what I’m listening for, too, and I try to play all records I sell to check them. If you would like any more info on a record, please ask. Check my other auctions and feedback. I try to be accurate with my grading, and most people say the LPs are better than described. If I get it wrong, a refund is available, minus postage costs. You can’t go wrong. I ship worldwide, and at as near to cost as possible. I use professional packing materials, from recycled supplies, and refund any over payment in shipping if it happens. Please ask any questions before bidding. Payments must clear before shipping. Good Luck!
