TRAVELING WILBURYS

Nearly 20 years after the creation of the band, and more than a decade since the music was last available to fans, the music of The Traveling Wilburys is at last reissued – and now on LP! The previously released albums Traveling Wilburys Volume 1 and Traveling Wilburys Volume 3 feature inarguably some of music's greatest singer-songwriters – George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan – as the iconic band The Traveling Wilburys. This set features vinyl releases of the original two albums with an additional 12-inch featuring bonus tracks. Also included is a collectible album-sized book, plus additional vintage postcards and posters.

GEORGE HARRISON - LIVING IN A MATERIAL WORLD - 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION

George Harrison's 1973 follow-up to his All Things Must Pass might be underrated in comparison to its predecessor, but Living In The Material World was still an instant multimillion seller. In fact, it was the Number One album of 1973 and contains the Number One hit in "Give Me Love."  PRESENTED IN A LIMITED EDITION deluxe gatefold jacket and all. Completely remastered, this new version also includes two rare bonus tracks and a 16-page booklet.

TOM PETTY - HARD PROMISES -

HARD PROMISES - Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers (small cutout in cover) rated one of the Top 50 Artists in Rock n Roll History established themselves with “Hard Promises.” Tom Petty's love affair with the more pop-oriented output of the Byrds and Dylan at their mid-'60s prime continued to find an increasingly wide audience in the '80s--  Hard Promises (and its FM evergreens, "The Waiting" and "A Woman in Love") confirmed that Petty was one hard-working prodigy. Picking up effortlessly where Damn the Torpedoes left off, Petty and the equally conscientious Heartbreakers took nothing about their newfound fame for granted, delivering their fourth strong effort in a row, this one increasingly seasoned with touches of their Southern roots. The title hints at the tough underbelly beneath the jangly veneer of Petty's ever-accessible songwriting, exemplified here by "Nightwatchman," "Something Big," and "The Criminal Kind."

JEFF LYNNE - ELO GREATEST HITS -

ELO's GREATEST HITS is filled with sonic kitsch like "I Can't Get It Out of My Head" (Lennon on Lithium), "Telephone Line" (Kool & The Gang with violins), and the irresistible "Turn to Stone" --cultural guideposts, whether you want to admit it or not. ELO combined classical elements with electronic rock and their influence can still be heard in new Turk bands --for all their Beatles-in-space trappings, the group was also pretty catchy. Early ELO was spotty, with flavorful items like "Strange Magic" popping out of the lab nevertheless.

By the late '70s, producer-songwriter-singer Jeff Lynne had his electronic pop chamber-group machine oiled to perfection, and this package contains a heavy dose of those longer-lasting-flavor years, with well-chosen dabs of essential pleasure

ROY ORBISON - FOR THE ONLY - 18 GREATEST HITS -

BOB DYLAN'S GREATEST HITS - 180 GRAM STEREO OUT OF PRINT COLUMBIA RECORDS RELEASE - This is a collection of 10 of the greatest anthems of the 1960’s. Here we get a sampling of everything from early folk protest Dylan- (Blowin’ In The Wind - The Times They Are A-Changing’) to the stoned/semi-psychedelic Dylan (Mr. Tambourine Man, Rainey Day Women - better known as “The Everyone Must Get Stoned” song), to sneering electric Dylan (Like a Rolling Stone, Positively Fourth Street.) The album isn’t assembled chronologically, nor categorized but makes for a great listen giving a brief overview of Dylan’s 60’s work ..though by no means a full representation of his work from that era. The album was a record company idea put out after Dylan secluded himself from public view and the recording studio after his motorcycle accident in 1966. Though he had a few bona-fide hit singles (and many cover versions of his songs have been turned into big hits by other artists), Dylan was never a singles artist. It was Dylan who introduced the concept of an album as a flowing complete work, rather than just a collection of songs. Tracks include: Rainy Day women #12 and 35 - Blowing in the Wind - The times They Are A-Changing - It Ain’t Me Babe - Like A Rolling Stone - Mr. Tambourine Man - Subterranean Homesick Blues - I Want You - Positively 4th Street - Just Like A Woman.
