Description

BBC London Actuality, 1957 10" LP featuring The Traveller's Skiffle Group recorded live at The Lord Nelson, London, SE17 on 23 July 1957. Tracks are on "Front" side Wreck of the Old 97,Jim Dandy, Picking Cotton, Silent Night, Lining Track, Don't You Rock Me Daddy-O and on "Back" Maggie May, Hey Liley, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, Ten Thousand Years Ago and Travelling Man. Vinyl retains nice sheen but does have a few marks/scratches, a couple of which do produce audible click. Record plays without skipping or jumping but with some hiss and crackle. Seems to playback at a lower volume than is usual(OK when turned up a bit!) but, apart from the noise mentioned earlier, sound quality is quite good and performance accomplished.

Sadly there are no details of the line-up but even so this is a possibly unique opportunity to own a rare recording of a live performance from the skiffle era.
