TREES – ON THE SHORE
CBS 64 168 – 1970
Matrix : Side A: S-614168-A1
Side B: S-614168-B1
record Excellent
The vinyl is in fantastic condition showing a high gloss surface with virtually no surface marks or surface scratches. The audio is amazing throughout; clear and dynamic with very little surface noise and hardly any “pops & crackles”. Surprisingly the music sounds incredibly fresh and does not seem to have dated at all! The record is perfectly flat with clean un-marked CBS labels, there is no spindle wear or spider marks indicating extremely light play. The matrix on the run-off grooves indicates that this is a FIRST PRESS copy
I have owned this record from new and it has been stored for the last 35 years in the dark.
Cover Excellent
The un-laminated record sleeve is in great condition completely unmarked, with just two or three very light creases to the front (top right hand side) the back of the sleeve shows no marks or creases. Overall there is no shelf-wear, half-moons etc. The spine is pristine with the lettering clear. Overall the cover is in fantastic condition – you would not believe it is 38 years old!
This is a true classic folk rock album which is very rare and highly collectable a recent review sums up this fantastic album - If you ask me, there is, of all folk rock bands and of all folk rock albums, none that compares with 'On The Shore'. 'On The Shore' is the perfect folk rock album. Yes. From the song selection (with the exception of the dreadful 'Little Sadie', but hey, let's not be picky!), to the atmosphere, to the performances. There's nothing cute about 'On The Shore'. It's over-powering. There's no place where I can hide from this album. It finds me wherever I am. There's no way either that I can understand it fully, let alone 'explain' it. If there ever was a 'portal,' this is it. It brings shivers to my inside. A tingling down my spine. It's shamanistic, frightening, beautiful. Yes. 'On The Shore' is the perfect folk rock album.
