This has to be one of the most under-rated albums of all time, a perfect mixture of west coast acid rock with dark lilting english folk, its timeless and beautiful. "The Trees are the most underrated band from the whole late 60's/early 70's folk revival. Folk/rock in the purest sense, this album is a superb mix of original and traditional material both tackled in blistering electric fashion. Often unfairly maligned as being a second rate Fairport Convention or Steeleye Span, this simply isn't the case - the opening 3 tracks on this album are as good as anything by either of those 2 bands, the musicianship is first rate and Celia Humphris is among the every best female singers of the era. This is a true folk/ rock classic that's begging for a reappraisal." (www.kaleidoscopefrenzy.co.uk).
Trees produced two studio albums, both in 1970, The Garden of Jane Delawney – a first pressing of which I have also listed on eBay now - and On The Shore. The latter featured cover artwork by the Hipgnosis studio.
The original band disbanded after recording the two albums.
