Description

HI BIDDER YOU ARE LOOKING A RECORD 47 YEARS OLD

The record was released in 8th December 1967  in United Kingdom

The record represents the Rolling Stones foray into the wonderful world  of psychedelia. Although this wasn't necessarly theirs, the album undisputed masterpiece like 2000 LIGHT YEARS FROM HOME and SHE IS LIKE A RAINBOW. The Band commissioned at the same photographer,Michael Cooper, that made the cover of the BEATLES Sgt. Pepper album( released in June 1967),to come up with an equally impressive artwork. The result was a psychedelic three D cover.

INFORMATION ABOUT MARKINGS on DECCA "dead vinyl"area

DECCA records from the 60's and 70's has three diffrent markings directly linked to the manufactoring process:

                                      Matrix number/mother number/ Stamper letter

Matrix number can be found at 6 oclock on the vinyl. This 6973 is a DECCA file number for the master tape used for this side of the record. Number 10 is the running number of the Master Lacquer made in the lathe machine from Master Tape. THe letter B indentify the engeneer who created the Master Lacquer and supervised the whole process up to the stampers.

In general we can say that the lower Matrix number you have the earlier pressing in your hand.

MOTHER NUMBER: can be found approximately at 9 oclock on the vinyl. The number is sometimes difficult to see. This is the numberof the Metal Mother used to make the stamper. The high number that generally that is possible to find is 5.In generalit can be said that the lower number you find the earlier Mother is used.

STAMPER: the letter identifying the Stamper can be found at 3oclock on the vinyl. The letter sometimes is difficult to see.Decca used the word BUCKINGHAM for numbering the stamper. The first Stamper to be made from the mother has the letter B, next one has U and so on.You may also find a combinations of two or three letters.

SIDE ONE OF THIS RECORD WAS MADE BY  FIRST  MOTHER  AND 7Th  stamper.

SIDE TWO OF THIS RECORD WAS MADE BY FIRST MOTHER    AND 8th Stamper                                       A LP that do not have the T2 on the full matrix numbers is a true mono mix.If the LP has the T2 code then it is basically a stereo mix. that has been folded down to one channel for mono sound.
