"THE COURIERS OF JAZZ" - - TUBBYHAYES/RONNIE SCOTT QUINTET - - LONDON LTZ-L 15188 - - Storming jazz, from Britain's probably greatest ever jazz ensemble, of the great Britjazz era of the 50's & 60's !!! - - Superbly recorded on the London label, the flipback laminated cover is complete with no splits or tears and very good edges and spine, but on the reverse it has been taped along the flipbacks and has a neat sticker attached, it is however, still a very attractive sleeve, with it's magic cover photo and all sleeve notes are still perfectly clear !!! - - The disc retains a very good gloss and plays superbly, with just a few light surface marks that hardly affect play at all, in fact I would say the overall performance is well over 95% perfect !!! - - With Tubby on tenor and Vibes, alongside Ronnie's superb complimentary tenor, the great Terry Shannon, pno, our sadly departed and magnificent Jeff Clyne, bass and equally missed, immaculate drumming of dear Bill Eyden !!! - - 8 great trax including, Tubby's own, "Mirage", "Star Eyes", a beautiful version of, "My funny Valentine", "Day in day out", plus 4 more exquisite trax !!! - - You will not be disappointed with the performance of this record, it really is a joy in great jazz listening !!! - - Started with no reserve as usual, thankyou for looking and good luck - - £14.99
