Type O Negative Bloody Kisses on 180g 2LP

Type O Negative's 1993 release, Bloody Kisses is the album that shocked and surprised previous fans of the late great Peter Steele's music, and also gained the band an entirely new set of followers. A masterpiece of dark gothic metal, equally perverse and romantic (sometimes both at the same time), Bloody Kisses showcased a sonic Venn Diagram where metal, goth and electro/industrial scenes forged a commonality that was fresh and engaging. Many of today’s rockers have acknowledged the measure of TON’s influence and Bloody Kisses in particular, on their own work.
"Steele (who was still working for the NYC Parks Department), guitarist Kenny Hickey, drummer Sal Abruscato and producer/keyboardist Josh Silver descended upon Systems Two in Brooklyn to record the album that would propel them into the bright lights and big titties of international rock stardom. Originally released on August 17, 1993, at the tail end of New York City Mayor David Dinkins’ “gorgeous mosaic” of race riots and unemployment, Bloody Kisses offered both a response to the controversy that had enveloped Type O’s debut and an enhanced pop sensibility.
