Taste 'Taste 1st LP'.Original UK Polydor red label stereo press LP,
'The Taste' were formed in Ireland in 1966 by Rory Gallagher and in 1968 they moved permanently to London where they signed with Polydor in November 1968, the band alongside Yes, opened for Cream at their farewell concerts. On 1st Jan 1970 they released 'On The Boards' reaching number 18 on the UK album chart. Lester Bangs dubbed it "impressive... real progressive blues". This is the first pressing with the earliest A//1 B//1 matrices and 1-1- stampers! The MacNeill Press textured sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some edge/corner wear and a little storage wear. The spine is intact, slightly worn and mostly readable, the plain company inner is intact & in EX condition. The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only one or two very faint sleeve removal hairlines and needle scuffs visible under bright light on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings! The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief & low background noise during the run in grooves, a really great, loud & lively listen!! The matrix nos. are; 583083, A//1 stamper 1-1-4, B//1 stamper 1-1-3. This is one of the very early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1970 UK stereo issue of this album!
All records are checked on an Acoustic Research deck before being listed and any flaws noted in the listing, so if you have any problems with the record please contact me for a full refund of original price & postage on return of the record (no partial refunds), no quibbles, no problems!! All grades are those used in the Record Collector Guide. All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!! UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2 KG!,
Will post to Europe (including all EU countries & Russia, Finland, Sweden, etc.) and Rest of the World (USA, Japan, Australia, Korea etc.), but airmail is limited to 5 or 6 lp's due to weight restrictions.
