Saint Saens: Rococo Variations for ' Cello - Gregor Piatigorsky,'cello
with piano accompaniment. A chamber version of Tchaikovsky's
beauiful set of Rococo Variations for 'cello and orchestra in
which the piano substitutes for the orchestra. Thrilling
performance from the young Piatigorsky in his 20s
when he was playing in Furtwangler's Berlin Philharmonic.
Very, very rare. The only copy I've  ever seen in a 50
years. Two-12" German acoustic Polydor discs 66168/69.

From the private collection of R. Peter Munves, who was in the record business as well as an avid collector for over 50 years and has decided to part with his beloved collection.
