Description
This amazing box set includes 8 LPs of all 3 Tchaikovsky Ballets, conducted by John Lanchbery and recorded by the Philharmonia orchestra.
Swan Lake, (3 discs) The Nutcracker (2 discs) and Sleeping Beauty (3 discs)
There are 3 separate Box sets, 1 for each ballet, contained within the outer case.
The 12" LP vinyls are in excellent condition, I would grade them as Near Mint (NM or M-).
The boxes and sleeve are also excellent, no marks or fading.
There is a booklet in each box set, with a foreword by Dame Margot Fonteyn.
A brief description of the history of the ballet and Tchaikovsky is followed by an illustrated guide of the records themselves.
These are my personal records bought new back in the '80s. They were played, at most, once or twice (some are unplayed) and then carefully stored for house moves etc.
I have played selected tracks on my Rega turntable and they are all fine.
The discs may benefit from a professional clean but I would be happy to play them as is.
The record label is EMI who used digital recording
