Perhaps best known for their sludge riffing self-titled second album, Tear Gas 'Piggy go better' evens out the light and heavy on this varied debut. Some of the acoustic directed rock is reminiscent of Traffic or Humble Pie, while the Heavier riffing of 'Mirrors of sorrow' or 'Witches come today' is closer to Jane or Junior's Eyes. Tear Gas then ditched all that acoustic style and came back a year later with what is now one of the most sought after UK Heavy Rock albums ever, their Budgie bass heavy eponymous 'Tear gas'. Apparently life moved fast back then, by early 1972, Tear Gas was now The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, whose first album, 'Framed' is a fine continuation of those first two albums. A really cool US gatefold copy here. Cover is at least a strong EX/VG++. Some shelfwear and pressure marks don't take away from the cover graphics, kinda blends in really. Check close all the photos. Also a Promo cut in top right corner. Vinyl is clean, bright, and plays back perfectly. A highly recommended album of inventive and progressive guitar rock.
