Description

An original 1st press of MM on the UK Elektra label from 1977. Matrix A1/B2 - very 1st cut. Etching "Allen". Worth holding out for these early copies as they were pressed on slightly heavier stock than what was typically used in '77. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover printed by Shorewood. Please note the album title on the front has inverted commas - this is only found on the earliest copies. The text on the rear is ALL in white as opposed to blue on later copies. Also included is the original shaped inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few very light marks per side - absolutely nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. A stellar performer which absolutely nails this late 70's classic. The sound is just 'bang on the money'. If you need to hear this title the way it was original envisaged...then look no further. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Interference is largely absent. You might detect a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments [e.g. openings seconds of 'Guiding Light' & 'Torn Curtain'] - But this is very minor and brief. Effectively this is about as clean as you'll realistically find. It's a top-level performer..love it!
Cover (Vg+) Looks to be in very nice condition and has been looked after down the years. Very respectable clean front and rear with only light handling [bit of stress creasing on the spine edge]. There's only a bit of light edge wear along the bottom edge and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is above average condition with all text legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A very fine looking example.
Inner (Vg) No splits. Bit of black biro annotated & crossings out on the rear in a few spots [difficult to make out].
