TELEVISION - MARQUEE MOON – SIGNED by Tom Verlaine, Billy Ficca and Fred Smith.
Condition = Near Mint: LP is unplayed and has never been removed from its inner sleeve. Cover has been (carefully) removed from shrink-wrap, only to be signed by the band, and then replaced.
Television’s debut LP “Marquee Moon” regularly features in lists of the best albums of all time – and rightly so. Here is your chance to own a pristine, unplayed 180g Rhino Vinyl copy, signed by all three members of the original band currently still touring: Tom Verlaine, Billy Ficca, and Fred Smith.
A note on the signatures: This LP was signed for us before a recent sold out Television show at the O2 ABC on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow on 14 June 2014.
We waited outside the venue on the afternoon of the show and Billy, Fred, and finally Tom, strolled up the street from their nearby hotel. They each stopped for us and chatted and then signed the LP cover in silver marker pen. The band were on good form - having just arrived from Bergen - and were looking forward to playing again in Glasgow, where in May 1977 they played their UK debut at the legendary Apollo Theatre. We were at that too – but not autograph hunting.
We do not offer a COA with this signed copy of Marquee Moon but absolutely guarantee that these are three genuine signatures – we saw them being written with our own eyes (and our own pen).
LP condition: The record itself is an unplayed 180g Rhino Vinyl LP “cut from the original analog masters”. We only removed it from the shrink-wrap for Tom, Billy and Fred to sign and then we put it back. The record itself has not been removed from its inner sleeve. Given all this, we feel confident in our grading of this LP as NM/NM.
