Description
NO RESERVE. Extremely rare Temptones 45 rpm, Philadelphia soul group that included Daryl Hohl, aka Daryl Hall, of Hall & Oates. Recorded here in Philly on Jimmy Bishop's label, Arctic (roster also incl Barbara Mason, Vibrations, Volcanoes, etc). Arctic 130. Girl I Love You b/w Goodbye. Both written by Barry & Daryl. Daryl sings lead on both. I purchased this new (along with Something Good, also listed) at the Record Museum. This was the hip place in downtown Phila to get records in the soulful 60's. The Temptones were local guys (I was friend's with of a brother of one of the guys). This is soul music, not folk rock.....years before the first H & O lp. The record is vg or vg-, has it's share of scuffs & scratches, but plays thru fine, minimal surface noise. Very rare, as few were printed and I doubt any made it out of Philly. On Feb-12-10 at 05:11:25 PST, seller added the following information:NOTE: the label looks white in the photo. it's not. It's blue, but a lighter color than the other Temptones single I have on ebay. Also (in response to a question): the labels on both are clean. No rips, tears, stickers, writing, etc. Very minimal wear. but that's it.
