Three Day Auction!
I bought a book in Taiwan, but from China, titled, The One Hundred Most Influential People in Chinese History. All in Chinese, of which I can only read the symbols for "one, two, three", there was a small drawing or photo next to a brief, few page description of each of the 100 persons. Chinese history being so old, the first of the one hundered modern enough to be photographed was the Empress Dowager, at #75, and the famous Mao Tse Tong was a little lower, at #91. Even among these great historical figures, rulers of their nations, causing life and death for millions upon more millions, Teresa Teng is among the ranking, and she makes the book's list at #100, extremely impressive for someone who, essentially, is only singing some sweet songs for us. Only she could have done this.
With such deep respect for her among the Chinese people, it was no wonder that a few records were printed in mainland China, very few, since China was still under deep economic constraints in the beginning of the 1990s. This is one of those few, a beautiful cover layout, just her and her name, simple and perfect, and produced by Polygram records in 1990. Shiny cover with little nicks here and there as seen in photos, EX+ condition. Vinyl has light, hairline scratches as seen in photos, but nothing that interfered with my super-sensitive turntable, also EX+, glossy and shiny.
