Terje Rypdal Bleak House Karussel Condition vg++ This LP was once Rypdals own private copy of this record! Inside the sleeve it has some private pictures of the band performing at some club. This one of the holy grails of Norwegian jazz, the debut album to Terje Rypdal featuring an allstar team of Norwegian musicians (Frode Thingnæs,John Christensen, Christian Reim, Ditleff Eckhoff, Jan Garbarek. Tom Karlsen etc etc) from 1968. This is the second pressing of the album, widely known for having a better sound and much cooler cover than the first. This is an extremely good record from the phase in Rypdal career were he was moving on from R`n`B to jazz, from the Vanguards to the ECM style that came later with Esoteric Circle and George Russell. The track Dead Mans Tale is already an classic (featured on Stellar Voyage-Fusion and Rock Grooves from Norway) with heavy drumsb-3 organ and Rypdal singing and playing flute! WES and Winterserenade is brilliant tracks were Garbarek and co produces some beautiful music through improvitation. Every track is written by Rypdal himself and produced by himself. Amazing record!
