Condition (Note: WE DO NOT USE GOLDMINE - SEE EXPLANATION OF OUR GRADING SYSTEM BELOW):

Jacket: 'Very Nice' - Albers' work is well-represented; the spine is yellowed, some ringwear, small waterstain on the gatefold

Disc: 'Good' - paper scuffs, light scratches

Liner: 'Lousy' - two tears from the center hole to the bottom seam

We do not use the Goldmine grading system, as, to put it simply, we find it incredibly deceptive and unrepresentative of 'real-life records'. Instead we have written out a list of grades, each corresponding to a word used in common conversation, which we feel best reflect the perceptions of the average record-buyer. They are as follows:

• 'Beautiful': Few to no VISIBLE defects in either the disc or jacket. Visible defects are so miniscule and insignificant that even the stingiest of buyers are not likely to take offense to them. A Beautiful copy is not PERFECT. However, we do not believe that any record is truly perfect, as there is always bound to be a flaw at some microscopic level. What the title of Beautiful does imply is that the copy of interest is as close to a perfect representation of the work in question as one will ever encounter.
• 'Very Nice': Again, defects are negligent and scarce, yet their presence is more noticable. A disc may have only a few modest marks, yet one doesn't require high-powered bulbs and a magnifying glass to observe them (as one would to observe those of a Beautiful copy). Despite not being 'museum-grade', Very Nice copies are just that - very nice! Expect great sound and a cover that does justice to the artwork.
• 'Good': A Good copy is not bound to set an auction on fire, but still serves a great representation of the musical piece it contains. Defects are more pervasive and noticable than those of a Very Nice copy, but they in no way overpower the copy's majesty. A Good copy is likely to have its fair share of surface noise, but will still make for a better listen than a CD! The jacket isn't frame-worthy but is still pleasing to the eye. To explain it best, a Good copy shows its age, but has not aged prematurely.
• 'Lousy': Simply put, this is a copy that's been enjoyed quite a bit. You're not going to impress anyone with a Lousy copy, but it'll make a nice 'play copy' you can afford to throw around without concern. And best yet, these are cheap!
• 'Terrible': We won't sugarcoat it - copies with this designation are the poorest 'functional' representations of the works contained (i.e. the record isn't missing pieces or horribly warped; the cover still bears the correct image but in a highly distorted form). Rarely will we put these up as stand-alones (typically they are free throw-ins), unless of course the album is considerably rare. In that case you can get yourself a nice place-filler for cheap!
