This Test Press was pressed by Mayking at MPO - with MPO Test Press labels and paper sleeve - date stamped on the A side label.
The vinyl features the original line-up of Frankie Goes To Hollywood performing their song Love Has Got A Gun - pressed in February 1984 / Février 1984 (8 months prior to ZTT's release of Frankie's first LP Welcome to the Pleasuredome) making this press the very first vinyl press from Holly and 'the lads.'
The compilation itself was pressed to give some record space to new bands / individuals "who never really had much exposure outside of Liverpool."
The generic release states that 'Frankie Goes To Hollywood were recorded in the summer of '82 after seeing and loving them their first Liverpool gig.' This recording then would have been made prior to Frankie going on The Word, and prior to their signing with Trevor Horn's ZTT in '83.
Other notable inclusions here are from Pink Industry and Ambrose Reynolds - the co-founder of Zulu records as well as Benjamin Zephaniah.
A super rare vinyl. I'm not sure how many of these were pressed, but Mark Ward, who was a highly respected and well known collector of all things Frankie, listed his copy on his FGTH collection page - Mark's copy was once owned by Pete Burns, but likely there were only a few presses made for Ambrose and Jayne (founders of Zulu records) for their own quality control.
Vinyl comes with promotional material as seen in the images: 1x A4 track listing, 1 x A3 size artist imagery (folded in half).
There are a few minor surface marks on the vinyl - please see images. These appear to be paper scuffs rather than scratches - almost identical marks on both sides.
I have not test played this item, but would visually grade it as VG+
