Description

This is a good assortment of Chicano R&B and soul 45s from the mid to late 1960s and mostly San Antonio artists.  Some vocals in English, others in Spanish; you can pretty much tell from the titles.  Despite condition, all play through with little or no distortion but with moderate (VG-) to heavy (G or G+) groove wear and noise.   And as you can see, some of the labels are beat-up.  But most of these are hard to find in any condition, and the music is great.  Especially "Slowly but Surely" -- a three-figure record if VG+ or better.

  • Jr. Jesse and the Tear Drops: Tesoro de Pobre / Besito Chiquito.  Vallado 1005, VG lite scrs
  • Rudy & Reno Bops: Together Again / Rudy's Monkey.  Tear Drop 3038. G+ / V-
  • Henry Pena and the Kasuals: Hace un Ano / El Destrampe.  Cobra 1138, G / VG-, label damage, noisy
  • Spider and the Playboys: My Heart Remembers / Tell Me Darling. AAA 104, V- nice ballads
  • Noe Pro:  Mi Razon / Yo Soy Aquel.  Falcon 1612, V to V- lite scrs
  • Royal Jesters: I'm So Sorry / Take Me for a Little While. Jester 108. V / V- much WOL side 2
  • Sunny & Sunliners:  La Pecosita / Rosita Bonita. Key-Loc 1032, V to V- instrumentals, more Mex than Tex
  • Henry & His Kasuals: Slowly but Surely / Workout.  Cobra 1124, V- heavy label wear; plays better than it looks
