Description

This is a serious piece of history as up for auction is the very first Blue Note record EVER pressed, it is by Albert Ammons (father of tenor sax great Gene Ammons) and the record is a yellow label advance copy with the tunes Melancholy Baby on Side A and Solitude on Side. This record needs little explanation as it was recorded in April of 1939. I think the 12th was the day and this record is in really nice condition, VG+ for a record that is 71 years old, no scuffs or marks on record. I don't know how else to describe this gem other than to say Blue Note is the most revered record label in the jazz world and a chance to own the very first one ever pressed should get all of the serious bidders up and at this one. VG+ condition, comes in a protected white sleeve and cardboard cover.
