Description

From the album jacket:
Jack Rowland, originally from Newcastle PA, studied at Smith-Williams Institute to be a concert pianist. In the past 22 years however, his talents as an entertainer have won over his concert ambitions. Whether he offers his interpretations of the songs from popular stage plays or the movies or goes into lustier ballads of night clubs, Rowland gives a lot of himself. The music lover, without doubt, will be attracted to Rowland's magnificent above average baritone voice.
Rowland aims to create, and does, all the vocal, instrumental and sound effects of a recording studio in a live, one-man performance. He can do a straight comic or a straight musical act varying from semi-classic to "Crazy Otto" style, ballads to Dixieland, narration to subtle comedy.
He combines vocal and comedy talents with the piano (which he sometimes, but rarely, uses as just that to his auxiliary units), an attachment usually producing organ strains which he has instead converted into a sound-effects apparatus, and such accoutrements as a toy piano, bongo drums and cymbals which you can never be sure are really that. Through electronics he produces simultaneous effects of eight different instruments and 30 separate echoes.
A whole symphony of sounds appear out of nowhere when jacK gets to swinging, Rowland calls this an adventure into the "FOURTH DIMENSION."
