You are bidding on an original copy of The Amazing Mets LP (Buddah, 1969) Signed by Ed Kranepool and Donn Clendennon, acquired from a relative about 25 years ago. The reason I beleive the album was signed by Clendennon and Kranepool was that my relative attended a public appearance by the two of them, and instead of having them sign their standard 8" by 10" glossy photos, he had them sign this record instead! This is supported by the fact that I had two unsigned photos of just these two players in my relative's collection as well (I sold them on EBay in separate listings), The autographs are not professionally authenticated, but it would be strange if they were not authentic given the context. As for the album, if you are have not heard it before, I can honetsly say it is like nothing I have ever heard before. Assemble a group of athletes hung over after clinching the NL pennant, give them some standards (and some bizarre songs such as the Meet the Mets theme) to sing in choral fashion, and you have-- well lets just say an interesting footnote in music history! And the opening track on the album? Of course, a track from Damn Yankees! And it only gets better from there. There are actually three versions of the original release of this album listed on Discogs; note that mine is the error version where the track "Locker Room Chatter" (actual locker room chatter, btw) is listed on the record label but NOT on the track listing on the album cover. I somehow did listen to this entire album, playing it on on a modern Victrola turntable, and it sounded excellent; I suspect that it has not been played much, if at all. Record also looks great, I would rate it Excellent. Album cover sleeve does have some wear (plain inners sleeve is fine), but is mostly in solid shape as pictured so I would grade that Very Good. Note that I tend to grade on the conservative side so as not to disappoint winning bidders! All in all, probably not an item for the music enthusiast, but definitely and item for the Mets enthusiast! Please review all of the detailed photos I have taken to confirm condition for yourself prior to bidding, as I have done my very best to accurately capture condition in these pictures.
