This is the LP by The B-52's "Cosmic Thing" Catalog# 1-25854 Reprise Records 1989.
Jacket (NM-) Some light corner/ring wear. A few creases. Perfectly legible spine. No rips or tears. No writing or defacing. No seam splits on spine or other sides.Nice images on front and back. Cover still shows some of the original luster. Comes with protective plastic sleeve.
Inner Sleeve/LP (VG+) Original lyrics inner sleeve.Custom labels. Labels are sharp and clean. Vinyl has some blemishes. A few light scratches. Some crackling here and there, mostly at beginning of each side (does not kill music) No skips, repeats or other flaws. Nice play-back. A good amount of the record plays at NM-.
Of interest: Working with producers Don Was and Nile Rodgers, the B-52's updated their sound with shiny new surfaces and deep, funky grooves -- it was the same basic pattern as before, only refurbished and contemporized. Just as importantly, they had their best set of songs since at least Wild Planet, possibly since their debut. "Cosmic Thing" and "Channel Z" were great up-tempo rockers; "Roam" had a groovy beat blessed with a great Cindy Wilson vocal; and "Deadbeat Club" was one of their rare successful reflective numbers. Then there was "Love Shack," an irresistible dance number with delightfully silly lyrics and hooks as big as a whale that unbelievably gave the group a long-awaited Top Ten hit. The thing is, Cosmic Thing would already have been considered a triumphant return without its commercial success. The big sales were just the icing on the cake. (allmusic)
****SALEM ATTIC NOTES**** All records are inspected beforehand. If they need a cleaning I do so. I use a spin clean system, that does a good job. Sometimes it does not get out the real tough stuff, so I do that by hand if need be. I always recommend that when you get your record you give it a quick clean with your preferred method or at least with some rubbing alcohol and a cloth. A record can never be too clean! I check the vinyl for scratches, blemishes, warps, sleeve rash etc. If the condition of the record is anything but new I will give it a full listen with a pretty decent pair of Pioneer headphones. I will give you the details of what I find in the Product Information part. I give all the jackets a dusting regardless. If the jacket is dirty or stained and can be cleaned without damaging it, I will do that as well. When I am done the LP & jacket go into a 2 mil protective clear plastic sleeve. The standard way I store and ship is with the LP & sleeve behind the jacket to prevent spine split, ring wear etc...to the jacket. During mailing each LP is put between two cardboard record pads and then inside the record mailer. Everything is stamped fragile but if your local PO/Mail Carrier is not the gentlest, let me know and I take that into account when packing.
