The Beatles REVOLVER Mono PMC 7009 with XEX 606-1 side 2 matrix AND an EXTRA DOT on ‘sold in. u.k. ‘ statement on side 1
This copy of REVOLVER has the hastily withdrawn mix of ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ (with the louder, longer piano fadeout) on side 2 of this LP, as indicated by its matrix.
Side 1: XEX 605-2 (1 PM) Side 2: XEX 606-1 (3 RM)
Side 1 also has an extra dot in the ‘sold in. U.K.’ statement across the label.
A DOUBLE RARITY!
Both sides of this record have minor surface markings and both rate as EXCELLENT. On audio playback a few minor clicks and crackles here and there but no deep pops, sticks or jumps. This LP has EXCELLENT AUDIO. Eleanor Rigby played at very high volume sounds great! This LP has not been played to death or trashed! The labels are very clean although there is a small blob on each side but is hardly noticeable.
The ORIGINAL 1966 plain white ‘ PATENTS APPLIED FOR’ ‘MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN’ inner bag is generally very good except it has partially split down the seams of the two sides.
The Garrod & Lofthouse Patents pending cover is in EXCELLENT condition overall. Clean, white and unmarked this has been well cared for over the years. There is a just a slight visible crease in the laminate and cover right at the top about 2cm down. That’s the only blemish.
Overall an EXCELLENT copy of the rarer mono REVOLVER with the 606-1 matrix on side 2. A real keeper and a fine addition to anybody’s collection.
