THE BEATLES
"MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR"
PARLOPHONE RECORDS Cat# SMMT-1
British original 1967 pressing
**********************************************************
The 'Fab Four' caught the imagination of young and old with their personalities, and wonderful interpretations of rock 'n roll.
Lyrical genius poured from John, Paul & George.
By this time they'd stopped touring and playing live concerts - but focused on the records.
The BEATLES eps were fantastic additions to their output -but usually they were already album tracks.
However for this, their last Extended Play issue, the songs were unique to the soundtrack.
Already planned as a film, the project was horribly interrupted by the death of Brian Epstein.
Tragic and shocking to everyone, it affected the four lads most and might have ended their career. Paul decided to get them through it by going full steam ahead into the film - so that is what they did.
This set, 'Hello Goodbye' and 'All You Need Is Love' were among the last Parlophone records pressed before Apple Records was launched.
In the US these tracks were compiled for a proper album issue, whereas for the UK it was this double EP edition. All the songs are tremendous, and of the high standard they'd set!
