Description
From a collection of demo pressings, acetates etc which I acquired at auction. Most are hardly played, some possibly just once (by me). I suppose they were collected by someone in the record manufacturing industry as they seem mostly to be first or very early pressings, acetates, some official demonstration copies or factory samples. Some were in company sleeves, others stored in paper / poly sleeves. They date mostly from the 1960s. Unfortunately the majority of artists represented in the collection are long-forgotten 'pop peasantry', however, I have selected a few of the more interesting records for sale.

TITLE: PAPERBACK WRITER / RAIN
DETAIL: Orig 1966 PARLOPHONE Sample copy. Stampers 3 OD / 3 MG. In unusual storage bag, believed from EMI pressing plant [Hayes?]
CONDITION: Excellent (played once by me, otherwise perhaps a couple of plays; single spindle mark on Rain label, no other visible evidence of play). Vinyl shows a few sleeve removal marks. Sample sticker on Rain side. In common with a number of these discs, there is a 'yellow pencil' mark across the deadwax on P W side, picture 2. I suppose this has to do with checking the pressing quality (some other discs have much more writing / marks. Anyone with any info / experience of this do let me know). In poly-sleeve and original filing sleeve as shown.
