The BEATLES : Twist And Shout / Misery (PARLOPHON 16352 - ITALY 1964)
Disco raro, anche se in condizioni non molto buone. La copertina è molto sciupata, è inutile descrivere i difetti, bastano le foto... L'unica cosa da aggiungere è che uno dei lati è parzialmente aperto. La valuto Fair invece di Poor perchè tutto sommato i maggiori difetti sono ai lati, la foto centrale è buona : F. Sul retro sono riportati i titoli dei dischi usciti fino a quel momento, e l'ultimo è proprio Twist and Shout. Questo significa che è una copertina della prima edizione del disco. Anche il fatto che le etichette siano verde chiaro starebbe a significare che si tratta di una delle primissime edizioni (d'altra parte questa è la mia copia, acquistata proprio nel 1964, quando avevo 12 anni...sono miei anche i due adesivi sulle etichette, e il nome scritto a biro, ma che ne sapevo che un giorno sarebbe stato un disco così ricercato...:-)) Il disco ha molti segni superficiali, ma suona molto bene. Praticamente NON si sentono particolari fruscii di sottofondo, tranne rumori nei solchi PRIMA dell'inizio delle canzoni. Sorprendentemente, lo valuterei VG++, ma diciamo VG+ perchè l'aspetto del vinile non è granchè. ------------------------------
This record is quite rare, though unfortunately not in good conditions. The picture sleeve has a lot of wear, just look at the photos, no need to point out the flaws. The only thing I might add is that one seam is split for half its lenght. I grade this sleeve Fair instead of Poor just because the Beatles picture is quite good, most flaws are at the edges. On the back of the sleeve there is a list of the records released up to that moment, and the last one is this, so it means this is one of the initial prints (later reissues had the identical front, but the back was updated with the records up to that moment, so you could find a copy of this record, re-released, say, in 1965, with all the Beatles records that came out also in 1965). Also the pale green labels point to an early print of the record (this record and this sleeve have always been together, I know because it's my copy, I bought it in 1964, and the writings, the stickers on the labels and so on are all my fault (but I was 12 then, how could I know that I was holding in my hand a future rarity...:-). The record has lots of surface scuffs, but plays surprising well. There is practically very little background noise during the songs, though there are crackles in the grooves BEFORE the beginning. I'd grade it VG++, but since the surface doesn't look so good I'll lower my grading to VG+.
