The BEATLES

*The BEATLES* UK Mono 1st pressing - 1968
================================================================
NO OFFERS PLEASE - AUCTION ONLY
================================================================ A lovely example with discs that look superb and deliver sublime audio throughout ================================================================ Most original 'White Albums' are found with vinyls and covers in poor condition. Here is an opportunity to own an original in wonderful condition with exceptional discs. ================================================================
*
DISC ONE
Audio: 1/2 NEAR MINT/EX+ Visually: 1/2 EX+/NEAR MINT
Matrix: Side1: XEX 709-1 Stamper code: 4-GAL Matrix: Side2: XEX 710-1 Stamper code: 3-LT
Almost impossible to find this good. If you are a collector you will know this first disc is played more frequently than the second and almost always has audible issues, especially side 1 which is normally played to death. No such problems here. Both vinyl surfaces are in incredible condition. I can see just one light line on side one and nothing on side two, even against reflected light. The vinyl has retained its original deep gloss lustre and the labels are near mint with just minimal trails very close to the hole. This disc has been handled with extreme care and is as close to perfect as you could reasonable expect from an original issue.
DISC TWO
Audio: 1/2 NEAR MINT/EX- Visually: 1/2 NEAR MINT/VG+ Matrix: Side1: XEX 711-1 Stamper code: 3-TH Matrix: Side2: XEX 712-1 Stamper code: 2-GDL
Again, a lovely example, with deep gloss surfaces. I cannot see any lines on side one. There are some on side two. The labels are near perfect with more spindles trails than disc one, but by no means excessive. The lines do cause a few very soft ticks on Revolution 9, but these are barely audible.

THE COVER - EX
Difficult to grade a 'White Album' cover. Most are in fairly poor condition, so that although this one isn't perfect, it is up among the best you are likely to find. It has evenly toned to a creamy beige colour and doesn't have any real issues. The spine has retained most of its laminate with just a few tiny slithers missing. Of course, there are some pressure lines and the odd mark, which are always evident on a plain white, glossy surface. The back panel is blank. I have taken quite a few pictures.

THE INNER SLEEVES - EX-
These are genuine original, single die-cut issues. Made from poor quality paper, these have survived well and are in great condition. The holes are almost perfect (a few very tiny tears) and there is just a small disc penetration on one of the bags. Each has been lined with a removable anti static polythene inner which has protected the original bags as well as the discs. They are creased, which is almost unavoidable with these very flimsy items.

THE LYRICS POSTER - NEAR MINT
The best example I have ever seen of this original. Seldom handled it feels very firm and has retained its whiteness.
=====================================================================================
THE FOUR PHOTOS - EX+
Near perfect, just a few faint surface lines on John Lennon in reflected light.

THE PHOTO SPACER SHEET - EX+
Because of the time involved in packing the four photos by hand, into every album cover, E.M.I. instead sent out boxes of photos to its retailers, to do the job themselves when they sold an album. The set of 4 photos were separated by a dividing sheet that was supposed to be discarded, but many ended up in the covers along with the photos, just as this one has.

The photos are of the actual item for sale. All records are thoroughly cleaned and listened to, from beginning to end. Professional mailers are always used.
I will be listing more Beatles records, so please have a look
