ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING?: Yes, it is...has fully-laminated, top-opening cover with embossed band name...numbered (this one is # A 17328...see pic)...comes complete with poster but does not have the 4 band-pic photos.
Mono/Stereo Differences:This release is probably the most essential to have in both mono and stereo, as almost every track has some difference. But the following thirteen tracks have the most marked variations.
"Back In The U.S.S.R." The airplane overdubs occur in different places on the mono and stereo versions. "Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da" The stereo version has hand-clapping during the intro, the mono version does not. "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" The stereo version has some vocal sounds from George at the end, the mono version does not. "Blackbird" The bird sound effects are quite different between the stereo and the mono release. "Piggies" The pig sound effects are quite different between the stereo and the mono release. "Don't Pass Me By" The mono version is much faster than the stereo, and therefore is shorter.The violin sounds at the end are markedly different. "Why Don't We Do It In The Road" The stereo version has hand-clapping during the intro, the mono version does not. "I Will" The stereo version has more prominent bongos. "Birthday" The stereo version has extra vocals at the end of the second chorus. "Sexy Sadie" The stereo version has two taps on the tambourine during the intro, the mono version only has one. "Helter Skelter" The stereo version has a fade-out/fade-in dummy ending with Ringo's shout of "I've got blisters on my fingers", the mono version does not ! ... this makes the stereo version almost a minute longer. "Long, Long, Long" The stereo version is fine, but on the mono, George's double-tracked vocal is embarrassingly out of synch. "Honey Pie" The stereo version has a shorter guitar solo than the mono version.
Facts you need to know:
This is an ORIGINAL South African **FIRST** pressing.
Printed on both the inside cover, and on the poster, is the small 'Artone Press' printers' logo. Artone Press were responsible for printing at least 90% of all South African record covers, based in Johannesburg, and still operating.
The cover has a 'flipback' inside cover, with fold-over flaps on the left and right-hand sides like the UK version, but UN-like the UK version, also has flaps on both the bottom edges as well.
It was NOT released on Apple there, only on Parlophone...this was the first Beatles release to feature their 'new' black and silver 'boxed' Parlophone labels which E.M.I. Sth. Africa started using in Jan.1969.

CONDITION:
COVER: ( VG+ )...has been 'roughed up' a little on the front opening edge, with some tears plus some scuffing there too...some lamination has lifted and come off in the top left corner, and the top right corner of the back cover (to a much lesser extent)...the laminate has also lifted down the centre of the inside cover...
RECORDS: ( VG+[+] )...all 4 sides have some light marks/scuffs but nothing heavy...plays very well, with some light crackling...(there's one slightly heavier looking mark on Side 3, Track 4, but it has no effect on play at all)...
POSTER: (VG)...has crinkling, and scuffing along the folds, plus the corners have had 'blu-tac' on them and have tears and extra crinkling there...also has some 'age-ing'stains, and small splits on a couple of the folds...
LABELS: (all 4 labels are M- )...very nice indeed!...

PACKING:
Don’t worry - I'll pack anything you buy VERY CAREFULLY to make sure it arrives in EXACTLY the condition it left here. More specifically, in the way I'd like to receive parcels myself. VINYL: All LPs come packaged carefully in solid corrugated card packaging designed specifically for LPs, plus the LPs are housed in clear plastic sleeves. The record itself is ALWAYS removed from cover ( except for SEALED LPs) for shipping to prevent seam splitting, and placed alongside the LP cover (inside its own inner sleeve, OR in an extra sleeve to keep in secure) within the clear plastic sleeve, which is then sealed. Likewise 7" singles/EPs are packaged the same way too - well protected. POSTERS: All posters are rolled within outer protective paper that extends well beyond the actual length of the poster to avoid any crushing of the ends, and then packed in a very sturdy solid-card mailing tube - packed carefully to allow no room for any movement of the item inside.
