THE DISC
Visually: VG+/ VG+      Sound quality: VG+/ EX-

Fabulous, deep gloss surfaces which do display some very light hairline marks, more in keeping with a disc that has been put down on a surface after playing, rather than being returned to the inner sleeve. Possibly deserves a higher visual grading but this is, of course, subjective.  There are no obvious needle lines, that I can see, and so for me an EX grading would not be unreasonable.
Side 1: All tracks play loud and clear, with just a touch of peak-wear but no appreciable loss of overall sound quality. There is very minimal background crackle/static through the run-ins, which disappears completely when the tracks play . There are no audible, clicks or pops through any of the tracks.
Side 2: Hard to find an original copy with a flip side that sounds as good as this one. Played far less frequently, the sound quality is undiminished. Being orchestral, the tracks do have quiet sections, which do allow the crackle/static to become audible, but it is still very minimal. There are no pops or clicks, which is almost impossible to find on this gentler sounding side of the disc. 
The labels are in perfect condition, with spindle trails in keeping with a disc that has been played. There are fewer on the side one label, indicating the obvious disappointment at side two being all orchestral.

THE COVER - EX+
It's always difficult to grade an album cover, but I think this one merits its EX+ when you compare it to most that are out there. There are no corner bends (where the empty corners have been stressed against the edge of the disc). The unprotected back panel is in amazing condition, with little more than some mild age toning. The spine and tri-flip backs are near perfect. Apart from some perimeter wrinkles, this cover is just about as good as it gets. And, of course, it omits the G&L printing credit, in error.

THE INNER SLEEVE - EX+
In keeping with any first issue, this album comes with its genuine original, single die-cut paper inner. The soft paper used here is of poor quality and is often found badly torn in original releases of the White Album and Yellow Submarine, but sensibly, EMI did improve upon this with the introduction of the sturdier plain white ones, as soon as existing stocks had been used up.
This example is in truly amazing condition. Apart from some unavoidable creasing, the hole is in perfect condition and there is no light penetration to any of the seams.
