Description

The Band - Music From The Big Pink.

Original UK 12" Emidisc Acetate from 1968.

This Acetate was recently acquired by us from a third party who originally brought it from Brian Gooding, Singer/Guitarist in the cult 60s Psych band The Blossom Toes. This acetate was given to him in 1968 by Giorgio Gomelsky who was blown away by Music from The Big Pink and at the time was running Marmalade Records, the label which The Blossom Toes were signed to. Giorgio was given the Acetate prior to it's release in the US and asked if any of his acts would like to do cover versions of any of the material on the album as Capitol US were unsure how, the then unknown group, The Band would go down in the UK. The Blossom Toes never did use any of the material on the album but did later record a version of Bob Dylan's "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight". However Giorgio did manage to talk one of his acts into covering one of the tracks, Julie Driscoll & The Brian Auger Trinity did a version of "This Wheels on Fire", which became a million seller and paved the way for The Bands huge success in the UK, The Rest is history !!!

The Acetate is sequenced in the same order as the issued version and contains the same versions as the finished LP but in Mono.

A Truly Historic Record !!!
