ORIGINAL SONG TITLE MISPRINT ORANGE STICKER

Up for auction is the original 1965 set featuring an EP album of The Beatles “4 By 4” with a Capitol Records 45 RPM 7” record mailing box. Original “4 By 4”, the 3rd out of The Beatles’ US EP albums and the 2nd one on the Capitol Records released on February 1, 1965. This 45 RPM includes four songs that Capitol Records had released on the “Beatles ’65” album in December, 1964. Initially, Capitol planned the “4 By” series to be released in a soft sleeve, but then decided in favor of a cardboard sleeve as can be seen with this “4 By 4” album. This copy remains in a pristine Mint factory sealed condition. Original Capitol Records 45 RPM 7” record mailing box with a misprint song title orange sticker on the lid containing an incorrect song order and a strange catalog number. We always try describing the items we list for an auction in details but unfortunately, we couldn’t find any information that would explain the origins of this sticker as well as its catalog number. We assume based on the existing practice at the time that this sticker was ordered by some distributor for its own purpose. The only thing we’re sure about is its authenticity. The thing is that besides the affixed sticker, the box contained another unused sticker inside. (Please see the listing’s photos / The unused sticker is not included in this listing) The back side of the sticker has the logo of the registered trademark “Fasson”, which to this day belongs to the Avery Dennison Corporation, one of the most prominent manufacturers of self-adhesive paper whose founder, Ray Stanton Avery, was the one to invent it.

Stunning factory sealed copy in Mint condition with the perfectly sharp corners. The original Capitol Records mailer box is in great vintage condition having some light signs of use and light creases in a couple of places along the edges.
