Description
The Beatles' third album "A Hard Day's Night" released in 1964. Stereo 1st UK press on Parlophone PCS3058.
The front of the sleeve has some age discolouration and light creasing. Large 'Stereo'. The rear has some light staining and discolouration. The spine is intact and readable. There is no writing on either the sleeve or the labels.
Emitex inner sleeve in excellent conition.
The typeface on the labels is the rarer Roman font. The "All rights of the manufacturer" message begins with "The Parlophone Co Ltd". There is the "Sold in the UK" statement. There is some spidering evident. The 'KT' tax mark is embossed on side one.
There are some light surface marks to the vinyl, but none are too bad. The discs play through with some light and occasional background 'crackles' which are only really audible through the run-ins. There is no sticking or jumping of the stylus. The matrix and stampers are YEX 126-1 and 5 RT and YEX 127-1 and 1 M on sides one and two respectively.
I believe that most dealers would rate the audio quality of this disc as VG+++ (if not near excellent).
It is widely accepted that stereo copies only accounted for a small proportion of the overall sales of this album. It depends who you believe - some say 5%, some 15%. Whichever is closest, there is no doubting that this, stereo 1st UK press, in very playable condition, is highly collectable and is bound to increase in value.
I am a collector and not a dealer. Current circumstances force me to break up my collection. Those of you who have previously bought from me will know that I try to be as honest as I can with my descriptions. Usually to a point of being over critical. I would ask those of you who have not bought from me to kindly check out my feedback from previous buyers.
