Description

THE BEATLES

ABBEY ROAD

early 1st pressing UK

EMI Apple PCS 7088

YEX 749-2 / YEX 750-1

6   MAT        9   ADD

Year: 1969

OUTER SLEEVE: Near Mint-

Great condition! A strong and clean example which bears no significant or major signs of wear throughout. It shows the misaligned apple on the backside of the cover, which is only on the very first sleeves. It does not list the last song "Her Majesty" on the sleeve. There are no writings, no seam splits, only some thumb nail nicks near the opening.

(please see photos)

  VINYL: EX+

Sparkling 'as new' and unmarked playing surfaces in strong daylight with just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines visible upon close inspection. This record was only handled with special care in the last 43 (!) years. It is hard to get a 1st press thick vinyl of Abbey Road, which has been played less than this one.

  AUDIO: Near Mint

Played only a few times on top-quality equipment, the analogue sound of this heavy vinyl is clean, clear and fault-free throughout. The intro of both sides is very silent and even the piano intro of "The End" has a stunning quality. Also "Her Majesty" sounds perfect (including the silent intro of 20 seconds).

LABELS: EX+

A clean and unworn set with just a small number of faint spindle trails around each unworn centre hole. I believe that this album has only been played ~10 times. On the label of side A I can even see only ~5 faint spindle trails. When checking the sound quality on my record player, it needs some light pressure to put the record on the spindle, similar to a new record. This is a further indication that it has only been played a very few times. "Her Majesty" is not listed on the label (Side B), as it was the case for the 1st pressing. Both labels are in a great shape!

(please see photos)

INNER SLEEVE: EX-

Clean, flat and only minor creasing with just a little bit of wear to the opening and to one seam. However, there are no seam splits on this one. These original black inner sleeves are very sensitive to any kind of wear. But this one is still preserved in an excellent shape.

Good luck!!!
