Apple Records SO-383 Abbey Road The Beatles version 2 photo-on board cover. This version 2 is the most rare of all three Abbey Road covers manufactured. In the late 1960's Record companies were converting from paper paste on photo covers better known as "slicks" over to photo on cardboard construction and the LP Abbey Road was the first on the new Apple label (from Capitol) to have contracted such covers, there are three different covers as a result. This LP offered here is cover #2 corrected cover with the song Her Majesty included on this photo on cardboard cover, the most rare of all three covers.
With several hundred thousand photo-on-cardboard covers produced Capitol Records went back to the "slicks" or paper photo glued to cardboard so version #3 Abbey Road LP has the un-corrected artwork covers lacking the song Her Majesty on back. This version #2 LP does have the song Her Majesty listed on the back cover as corrected artwork was used in production. This beautiful LP has no edge wear, no seam splits, clean and bright, factory breathe holes present, super nice!!
