Description

For sale is The Beatles' Abbey Road, originally released in 1969 on Apple Records and reissued by Capitol without "Her Majesty" listed on the jacket, but listed on the orange label with the Capitol logo on the bottom. There is also no visible sewer grate in the road looking down from Ringo's left leg as there was on the original release. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched the matrix numbers F-52/G-58 #8, followed by "Mastered by Capitol" and what appears to be a tipped over martini glass. This "glass" actually represents a Winchester rifle. These etchings indicates that this was mastered at Capitol Studios, then it was pressed at Capitol Record's Winchester, Virginia plant. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering that produce superior sound, sought after by collectors and music lovers throughout the world. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17, then immediately put the record into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is graded as  Near Mint Minus because of one minor blunt. The spine is Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Minus Mint because of a white spot in the middle of "I Want You". This spot has no audible affect during playback.  It's play-graded as VG+ because of occasional surface noise, most noticeable during the quiet sections. This is still one of the best copies of this album that I have seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have more Rock and Roll records, as well as albums of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're mostly Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing.     I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
