Description
An interesting set of Album Jackets manufactured to display all the originally proposed (OFFICIAL) artwork for what would become “The Beatles Again” or “Hey Jude” Album. All these covers are mock-up jackets (REPRODUCTIONS) using the actual proof slick’s artwork from the Apple vaults as a guide and are very high quality in that they mirror the actual finished and officially released version right down to the cardboard stock that was used way back when. As The Beatles had a contractual obligation with Capitol Records to release an album at the time, the Hey Jude compilation filled that need. Several proposed album covers were offered by way of printer proofs and several different slicks were provided with the released version being chosen. Here are the other known designs in a finished product for your consideration. There are no records in this auction, just the 3 covers. Very good quality that could pass quite easily for the real thing if a record were tucked inside. All 3 are in beautiful, mint condition. If the winning bidder wants me to include an actual copy of the vinyl I’m sure I could oblige and include 1 copy for no extra charge (I can only offer the vinyl addition for domestic shipping). Beautifully designed and constructed. A very unusual and unique addition for the Beatles and Apple Records collection indeed.
