The Beatles Collection All UK releases and Rarities Record (circa 1979).
I received this collection when I was 12 back in 1979. I was a big Beatles fan then (I still am now). I already had all their records but this collection was beautiful and special because it was the UK albums. The real deal, not the chopped up Capital records releases. Because it was so special I didn’t play it (except for the Rarities record because I’d not heard the versions of those tunes. However I didn’t play that to much because the track list didn’t “flow”).
Anyway when I was 12 I placed all the albums in LP protection sleeves that I got from a local record store (check out the photos the albums are still in them… I was a strange kid).
Also the Sgt Pepper album in this set does not come with the cut-outs. It was like that when purchased. My guess is the folks who put out this set thought it was too low brow. If someone else knows why then please message me.
Same thing with the white album. Although the set does come with a poster that features the photos.
There is a photo that shows the Abbey Road record sleeve. An individual messaged me and indicated that this is how you could find the date the collection was issued. The number 1078 appears at the bottom.
And here it is 2023. And it is time I finally departed with this set. I believe it is in great condition but I am no expert at record grading… that is why I provided the history of this collection. I’ve had it for 44 years. It has spent 99% of that time in closets.
