Description

The famed Beatles Blue Box. (Vinyl, 1986, Parlophone Records UK) There are 14 records because of the White Album being a double. The records range from EXC to NM to some with a scratch or two. I’ve listened to them and they’re in great shape. This is one of the versions cut by Harry Moss - you’ll see his initials in the dead wax - and you’ll understand why this is superior to 60s pressings. The box is not in perfect shape as I show in the picture. But still looks nice on the shelf and intact. This has a sticker for the Serial number 5508.

CONDITION REPORT:

I would say – and not being a record dealer, I’m just doing my best – most of these records are EXC to NM or M-.

I am listening on a Technics turntable with an Ortofon Quintet Black so quite sensitive.

There are a few notable scratches. For example, one side of Let It Be and one side of Rarities has a long scratch across the side. These do not seem to effect play and "Let It Me," the song, is perfect. In two cases, where there is a scratch on a record (Let It Be side one, Abbey Road, side two) the opposite side is perfect. (I’d say M.)

The only real problem spot in the box is Side 2 of Sgt. Pepper, song 1. You can see a scratch and hear a tick across "Within You or Without You." BUT “When I’m 64” is perfect. The scratch is contained to that first song.

Otherwise, I don’t hear much of anything even when I see a thin scratch.
